Problem: Getting prompted to put in ID/Password
Solution: The problem is encountered when linking into a GALE database (General OneFile, Academic OneFile…) from the link off of the “Journal Titles List”. The GALE database gives the user an authentication page (enter login/password).
There is a work-around. If you experience this error, go into the database (General OneFile, Academic OneFile…) from the Library Homepage FIRST. You should authenticate (get in) without any problem. Then, go back to your “Journal Titles List” and re-select the link to the title in the database. You should no longer be prompted to enter any login information and you should find yourself at the appropriate page in the database. Our links have not changed, but there is some quirk in the GALE authentication that causes this to happen some of the time.
